Feliks Audio ENVY

In the hifiman room I was told there are internal changes too, they didn’t want to disclose which. The amp variant will be paired with Sus as a bundle apparently.

Sonically it was good, but wouldn’t be my first pick for Susvara und UV. Super nice finish though.

Hmm, a bit weird. The new model is the Susvara Unveiled, you can get OG Susvaras for ~3k€ easily, and 3,5k€ with warranty nowadays (refurbished from Hifiman). Everyone that wanted an OG Susvara already owns one. Stradi tubes are also an interesting choice, i think they are in between Elrogs and WE's, but not quite on that higher resolution level of Elrogs.
Oh, by the way, i saw that at least one model of that new variant was equipped with different 6SN7's than the previous PSVanes, i think that they were these:

Anyone has an opinion if they are better / more interesting sounding than the previous CV181 PSVanes? The price certainly went up from 225€ to 310€.

Yeah that was my thinking too, would make much more sense to colab with RAAL. Maybe it’s an older pre - Immanis project. It definitly added some density and weight to Susvara sound but nothing you couldn’t achieve with right tube rolls I think.

No surprise, since you hate Envy now.
Don’t forget to visit Wandla thread to say how much it sucks, even after the latest update!
I don’t hate Envy, chill lol and yes I think Wandla is overpriced for what it is.
Maybe you should learn to deal with opinions that don’t mirror yours and accept that some people could have a different taste and are sometimes more experienced following a certain preference. Stalking people online doesn’t make you look smarter either. There is no malicious intend, you are just reading opinions.

I just think that they are trying to milk the Envy with more variants than they should. At this point i wouldn't be surprised if an "Envy 1266TC Edition in black with WE tubes" gets announced.
I'm sure that they did not expect the Immanis, as noone did. That's why they made the Bliss - for the ultra high resolving estats like X9K and Shang Senior which beat every planar in this regard. The problem now is that the Immanis can reach this resolution with a very good bass and also just on a normal amp, with just a transformer.
Maybe there will be a direct drive unit for the Raals in 2-3 years from Feliks Audio. But maybe not, because that would at least somewhat cannibalize the VM-1a, no? But Woo Audio did it with their new Wa33. I have no idea if you can just build / implement a direct Raal amplifier / portion of an amplifier without their consent. I doubt it, but maybe i'm wrong.

Yeah. Though Bliss was exceptional with SR-X9000, preferred that combo to Aperio GSE by a significant margin tbh. Beautiful too.
Considering it’s even more of a niche now with Immanis outthere I doubt it will see much recognition unfortunately.

The Bliss is really exceptional. Eye watering price though at 20K.

Yup, for me it would've been the Shang Senior they had right (or left, haha) beside it, but the Immanis is still the winner, and that on an Envy. I also listened to the Aperio GSE and while it had an insane resolution and a nice tonality, it sounded flat, like the music was missing its heft and body. Estat dynamics are just not for me, doesn't matter which one.

Yeah, and tube rolling is incredibly hard with those quads. I would probably not even roll it, or maybe just once - to Elrogs. But since the Immanis exists now, i imagine that the people who go for a Bliss need to be very deep into estats and dislike the new Raals, for whatever reason. I think it is even more of a statement piece than the Envy AE.
Imagine the thing in a darker wood
From what i've heard it's not 100% finished yet, there will be different wood options available, the one unit they had on display also had an uncoated, raw wooden finish.

Also: That poor headband of the Shang Senior was hanging on its very last thread.

It’s not some magical „direct drive” inside the VM-1a or wa33 gen2. Just some output transformer built in, same as the one you have in the stand. The working principle is the same, it’s just inside the amp for convenience

Envy V.5. Interesting but also a little confusing as I thought OG Envy was designed / built for Sus, maybe I've got that wrong?

I do wonder what changes have been made under the hood and trying to figure out what changes would be made that wouldn't benefit any other headphone, which is what we essentially already have with PE/MW/AE.

Choice through tube selection when ordering would be good, eg, a specific set of tubes ideally optimised for 'X' HP, the under the hood variations, not quite so sure. It also might put a little doubt into existing owners in regard to what if they bring out another version that's different under the hood and done specifically for the headphones you own, whilst being an OG owner for example. Very curious decision to release further variations that have such minor changes, something definitely not the norm for amplifiers I think....
