I'm considering getting the Envy amplifier but 3 questions are on my mind:
- is the background absolutely balck or do some people have problems wit hiss/hum?
- does it have the typical 300B sound: dreamy mids, not bright and a bit bloomy bass?
- is the amp fully balanced internally?

- yes absolutely black background
- hard to tell. The only other 300B I know is the Cayin Ha-300 mk2 and both have that modern technical sound signature. I wouldn't call the bass bloomy.
- It's a Single Ended Triode amplifier. So no as most tube amplifiers It's not fully balanced. I think you'd also need a quad of tubes for fully balanced designs.

Thank you, very helpful.
Positive for me on point 1 and 3.
2 is harder to tell, I don't especially need o9ldschool 300B sound but it should at least sound tubey compared to a solid state amp for me.

Looks great! I am honestly not risking it these days with the Lous music as I already developed a tinnitus.
Doing a professional cleaning by ear wax removal doctor helps get rid of extreme pressure for a while but always come back.
Anyone else has this issue? What are your tips to make it better?
I like them a lot. If you come across a reasonably priced pair you will not be disappointed. They are not soft tubey sounding, which I believe you are wanting to avoid. My favourite pairing at the moment.

Unfortunately I cannot help you with this as I bought my amp tubeless. The Takatsuki’s occasionally appear around the €1400-€1800 price mark, but you gotta be quick.
