This is correct, provided that the preamp control in your streamer is an analog control. If it is digital attenuation, dynamic range will be lost.

Sylvania 6F8G
RCA "Grey Glass" CRC VT-99 (ok, technically a 6SN7 - the exception to the rule)
RFT 6H8C
Ken Rad QUAD 7193's
etc.

6SN7's are actually very mediocre (IMO) in comparison to other (mostly) compatible tubes. YMMV.

Attached are the adapters you need for those.

I had by Sylvania Leaf's on eBay but they didn't sell. I like them a lot but in the grand scheme of things I only ever wanted 3 - 4 pairs of tubes. They are very nice all rounders - more on the warm side.

Sorry i'm not sure how they pair with the WE300B though but some others may be able to chip in.

I had these also and they are also quite warm but also very good 6F8G tubes:

Being really new to tubes, I would advise staying with 6sn7gt’s for now. You could get yourself into a pickle with Quads and Adapters, also adapters with cables to plug on top of tubes. Take your time .

Edit: When you see some you would like to buy, post them up here so people can make sure they are the real thing, and they are not overpriced. Sure people will advise on sound quality and give an alternative, but the truth is, apart from a few, they all sound good.

RCA, Raytheon,Sylvania and Tungsol, among others will get you good sounding tubes. But rather than the GTB’s, have a look at the GT’s. These are manufactured earlier and are a little more expensive, but general consensus is they do sound better. Your Envy deserves them!

Not sure what the first pair of tubes are, they look interesting. Maybe others will chime in.

What they are not is the traditionally known Sylvania 3 hole bad boy 6sn7gt. Which looks like this.

My ramblings do not include letters a current manufacturer might put on their tubes.

Have a read of the 6sn7 identification thread, and I think there are a couple of other threads dealing with 6sn7’s. A lot to read and take in!
