I have to bump this thread,I am just a fan of Regina Spektor and I've just rediscovered music from both Fiona and Tori ( I bought Tidal, Little Earthquake and Under the pink when they were released). If there is someone as good as them please recommend.

Great choices, especially Rickie doing a Tom Waits song. Only person missing is Chuck E. Weiss.

You probably already have, but just in case: Kate Bush. I'm fairly certain that there would have been no Tori Amos as we know her, without Kate Bush.

+1

I like Tori, especially between Little Earthquakes and Boys For Pele (her best album IMO) but she's still no Kate. Pretty much everything from The Kick Inside to Hounds of Love is essential. They both seem to have lost their way of late though. Going back before Kate Bush, Nico is worth a listen, especially The Marble Index.

For a few more recent artists, I suggest FKA Twigs, Susanne Sundfør and Grimes (Geidi Primes to Visions, not Art Angels - ugh).

But my all time #1 female artist is Björk; everything from Debut to Medulla - and most of her 80s output with The Sugarcubes and Kukl as well. Homogenic might well be one my 10 favourite albums ever, but I don't really keep track of such things!

Kate bush and Grimes are my favorites female artist too. I love hound of love and a lot of songs from Kate bush albums. Nowaday i listen to Grimes a lot even though she is just pop up not long ago, she really does good music. I used to listen to Oblivion 10 times in a row hahah, really love her styles

  Rickie Lee Jones

I am listening to a binaural recording of Amber Rubarth doing a cover of the Tom Waits song Hold On, with balanced amp and quality headphones the sound is incredible.

Is that this song? I think I'll get this CD. Thanks.

That is indeed the song I particularly like and it is a great cover. All recordings are acoustic, binaural, and 24/192K that I purchased and Amber does an exceptional job singing various genres.

There is also a section for binaural and there is 20% off with the right code if you buy two so I grabbed two albums by Amber Rubarth.
