I've been planning to build a pair of speakers for a while now, and have finally decided on a design. It'll be back loaded horn / bass reflex hybrid sporting a Fostex FE126E driver. The design is from the recommended enclosure list on www.fostex.com. So in a nutshell: nothing can go wrong. Now if only I believed that myself.
Here's the datasheet on the driver:

Here's the original recommended enclosure:

I drew it in Sketchup as an aid during building, and just to give an impression on how it'll look. I placed it on a 27cm high stand, with 3cm spikes. I figure this will give the optimum height, though ofcourse I won't know untill the speaker has been built. If it may seem odd placing a horn higher than ground -- others have done it with this enclosure and commented positively on it. Either way, that's not certain yet, though in two tone colors it'd look pretty neat.
I expect to start building in a week or two, once I have all the parts together. The Sketchup drawings have Cherry wood veneer, though that can change of course.
If you want the Sketchup file, you can grab it here: http://www.iamrik.com/dump/fe126e/fe126e.skp
Any tips or comments are most welcome.
