Hi, I've been listening to Dvorak's famous 9th symphony alot. I've heard just a few recordings, but this Harnoncourt w/ Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra version is the one I've been listening to the most (along with "The Water Goblin"):
I like the clean modern recording...
Anyway, I've enjoyed this so much I want to explore some of Dvorak's other symphonies (I don't think I've heard them). What are your favorite recordings and interpretations of some of his symphonies? I'm especially interested in the 7th and 8th, but I'll also take recommendations for others.
Right now, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on the Dohnányi / Cleveland Orchestra recording of the 3 great symphonies:
Or else just the 7th & 8th symphonies (as I already have the Harnoncourt 9th):
But I thought I'd ask for recommendations before buying one of these (or see if anyone advises against these).
