Does this just remind anyone of those flying skull things from Zelda? I think that they were in at least ocarina of time. They had flaming wings, though, which made them look neato. I just saw the album art and couldn't stop laughing, no offense to the actual band or album, though. (Have no idea what that might be.)

Favorite of 2008:
Jason Becker - Collection: Both my favorite album of all time and probably one of my favorite album covers.

Jennifer Batten - Whatever: I really couldn't enjoy the album (I found it both very annoying and very boring, for the most part). However I do really love the album cover.

Nice choices with Drums Not Dead, Microcastle, and Mirrored, I was thinking about posting the latter two. And the freaky, illusiony, album cover is, as stated above, Merriweather Post Pavilion, the most recent album by the fantastic and supremely talented band Animal Collective. I highly, highly recommend checking it out, it's the best album I've heard this year, or in some time for that matter.
