I picked this bad boy up at a thrift shop for $8 and I absolutely love it and have finally decided to get into the world of tube rolling. There seem to be a lot of guides but even more misinformation about this amplifier and I can't seem to wrap my head around it at all. The guide says that I can use ECC85 in the amp, but half the internet is specifically pointing to 6N1 (chinese) and 6N1P (russian) tubes only. I'm hoping that I can roll in ECC85 because they are abundant, but I don't have any of those laying around to try out and I don't feel like buying a set of tubes to burn out.
 
Is it possible to use ECC85 or do I have to specifically stick with Chinese/Russian 6N1/6N1P?
