FATfreq Impressions Thread - Bass Cannons and More

Does anyone here have the 7hz Dioko? I see it has the same 8khz peak as the Quantum, so I'm sort of wondering if the Quantum has that same tizzyness to the treble?

I also notice I'd prefer quite a lot more bass it seems.
I got curious and tried EQ'ing the Dioko to the Quantum - doubt its as accurate as this would suggest (since treble on these measurements is notoriously dodgy), but in case anyone has both and are willing to try, I'd be curious how close it gets, if at all...

One question on the Ares cable...I know this isn't the TermX connection but do others have their 4.4mm end unscrew easily? Also have static if it turns slightly once plugged in. So not sure if that's normal or if it's something wrong with my cable specifically.

Mine unscrews very easily when I got it. And it also had static (but weirdly enough) for the 1st few hours of use only - after repeated unplug/plug into my player - the static was gone. For the plug, I just added a dab of Loctite (I always do) on all of my cables.

Yep. Mine unscrews easily as well. Love the sound but, I am still trying to find the perfect tips for a better seal.

Same here. On my left ear - I easily loose the seal, so I can hear the silicone pop every single time I loose the seal and it's annoying as hell. Weirdly enough, this is the only IEM that I loose seal on my left ear. 🤷‍♂️ I thought at 1st it was a unit defect, but it really was just loosing seal. The Baroque kinda held it's place better than the Clarions (default tips). But still looking for better ones.

Yea I found that the clarions and these IEMs just don't insert deep enough. I switched to Spinfit Neo. They're narrow bore though. I have some Azlas sednaearfit crystals that I keep telling myself to try. They are a much grippier silicon so they are my go to for IEMs that seem to want to lose seal in my ears over time.

Yep. Same. I don’t have this problem with others - the shape of the item doesn’t fit my ears as well as others in my collection. Using the Baroque’s as well but will probably try some others.

Oh I thought I was the only one having fit issues! Good to hear someone having the same experience.

Tried Spinfit Omni - it's close to holding the seal BUT it isn't wide bore - it limits the soundstage by a bit.

Tried the sticky silicone ones - this is by far the "best" that held up in maintaining a seal - try Divinus Prism. It's the only wide bore and stick silicone (that I know of). The sticky ones from Azla isn't wide bore as well.

I will try to get a good tip rolling session tonight and see what happens. Want to preserve the SQ and hold the seal as much as possible. But so far, only the sticky ones held up the seal.

I rolled on a few and found something with a longer stem worked well like the Final Type E Clear/Reds. Dunu S&S also worked well for me.

Do the TRI Clarion tips not work at all with them? They've been by far my favorites with the Deuce and Scarlet Mini so far

They fit fine - I just don't like how they take away from the bass to my ears.

Hi all, here to share my review of the FatFreq x Effect Audio Quantum.

It does live up to the hype of what I originally really enjoyed.

Pros: Details galore, top to bottom
Gentle U/balanced sound signature
Bass is deep, punchy, natural sounding - timbre of the bass sounds as close to a DD but with the planar detail, attack, speed (with more natural decay)
Mids are clear, clean - vocals excel and instruments are absolutely detailed.
Treble is energetic, lively but very controlled despite how it graphs. Not harsh at all
Technical performance is excellent, detail and resolution is well done
Modules have a varying impact on tuning to allow for listeners to customize their listening experience
Effect Audio cable is excellent, Ares S II works well with Quantum
Super responsive to sources and cables (Tubes + Quantum = Amazing), cable rolling was noticeable.

Cons: Harder to drive, really likes power
Neutralheads may not like the extra bass emphasis
Looks - some people don't like the 'Beats' logo look or the brushed silver. I don't mind it but seems to be a like it or hate it situation
Fit - shape is slightly irregular, longer stem ear tips work best for me

Overall: 5/5. This is so guuuuud.
That was a great vid. I am really liking where its going, this set seems to be one of those sets that delivers the same as the hype. Cant wait to get my hand on them soon!
That adapter is just a resistor - it works with the deuce because it uses two drivers with a crossover.
Quantum is a single planar, so it will just make it quieter.
ohh I did not know that, i also had the same question about using the adapter.
