Not sure if they're recording, touring, or just seeing how things go. Anyone care?

Here is the official statement:

Faith No More has always stood out as some sort of unique beast; part dog, part cat--its music almost as schizophrenic as the personalities of its members. When it all worked, it worked really well, even if the chemistry was always volatile. Throughout our 17years of existence, the mental and physical energy required to sustain this creature was considerable and relentless. Though amicable enough, when we finally split, we all followed paths seemingly destined to opposite ends of the universe.

Yet during the entire 10 years that have passed since our decision to break up we've experienced constant rumors and requests from fans and promoters alike. Nevertheless, for whatever reason, none of us kept in regular touch, much less to discuss any possibilities of getting together.

What's changed is that this year, for the first time, we've all decided to sit down together and talk about it. And what we've discovered is that time has afforded us enough distance to look back on our years together through a clearer lens and made us realize that through all the hard work, the music still sounds good, and we are beginning to appreciate the fact that we might have actually done something right.

Meanwhile we find ourselves at a moment in time with zero label obligations, still young and strong enough to deliver a kickass set, with enthusiasm to not only revisit our past but possibly add something to the present. And so with this we've decided to hold our collective breaths and jump off this cliff....
BACK, GOD FORBID, INTO THE MONKEY CAGE!!!

We can only hope that the experience of playing together again will yield results erratic and unpredictable enough to live up to the legacy of FNM.
Who know where this will end or what it will bring up...only the future knows. But we are about to find out!

FAITH NO MORE are:
Mike Bordin, Roddy Bottum, Bill Gould, Jon Hudson and Mike Patton

Yeah, I saw the article on Rolling Stone's website. I was and still am a FNM fan. Looking forward to the rebirth!

Happy news! I was at a rather small and intimate Faith No More concert once. One of the better concerts I have attended.

Patton's name is listed at the end of that release, but is he explicitly included? For him to get back with FNM would be going back on what he's been saying for years (not maliciously, just matter-of-factly).

I am all in. Saw them open for Billy Idol a long time ago. Went to see them but Billy was ok. My date thought he was a blond smurf.

I agree.. last I heard Jim Martin was the one that leaked the info by saying he wasn't included in the reunion. Gould (I think) said there was nothing to the reunion rumor.

I was a huge fan at the time, but I completely understand moving on. Maybe money is involved though, which can change things in the world of an aging rocker.

'First Rehearsal Was 'Much Better Than Expected' - Mar. 5, 2009

Quote:

Reunited influential '90s alt-metal band FAITH NO MORE rehearsed yesterday (Wednesday, March 4) for the first time in over 10 years, according to a Twitter update by the group's bassist, Billy Gould. "First rehearsal was good!" he said. "Much better than expected. By the end of May we should be completely dialed in."

FAITH NO MORE has been confirmed as the third headliner of this year's Download festival, set to take place June 12-14 at Donington Park, United Kingdom. They will also take part in Germany's Hurricane and Southside festivals, which are being held June 19-21 at Eichenring in Scheeßel and Take Off Park in Neuhausen ob Eck, respectively. So far, no North American appearances are on the radar, but according to Gould, "U.S. shows are not out of the question."

As speculated, original guitarist Jim Martin will not be part of the reunion. Performing in his place will be Jon Hudson, who played with FAITH NO MORE during the latter stages of its initial run after Martin departed.

The rest of the band's best-known lineup — singer Mike Patton, Gould, drummer Mike "Puffy" Bordin and keyboardist Roddy Bottum — will be intact.

This is pretty exciting stuff!
