So i just listened to a track i love, but in this recording the panning seems so unnatural… i‘m no studio-guy but i can‘t think of a reason to mix it that way… does anybody know why one would do it that way??

That‘s the track i‘m referring to:

the femal vocal for example is panned to the left, but the instruments are also panned excessively in my opinion… almost unlistenable…
