Hello.
 
I recently purchased an Asus Xonar U7 for gaming/music/movies in that order.  I have Sennheiser g4me one headphones (50 ohms). I'm not sure if the xonar is damaged but the sound is atrocious compared to my ~7 year old internal sound blaster card.  
 
My question is do I RMA it or do you guys have any other recommendations for a better external card?  Price should be ~$100 US.  I need an external sound card because I travel and use it when I game on my laptop.

Contact Asus tech support, see if they can offer any help.
Otherwise return the U7.

I prefer Asus over Creative, but just can't say for sure which is better (U7 vs X-Fi HD).
