Bonjour, et Bonne Année à tous !

Intro :
A while back I got a Topping VX1 following this underneath topic
Here : http://www.head-fi.org/t/697848/topping-vx1-anybody-try-it-yet

My son is pretty pleased with it but says the VX1 has its Input limitations. So let's consider Topping as a "durable electronic brand" a year later.

Futhermore, I'm thinking of this new setup :
Topping VX3
Topping D30 DSD

I red the the Head-Fi review of the Topping D30 and it looks like a great deal.so I will considered it but, first thing first, I ordered tu Topping VX3 because the price is really OK in France  89 € be 94 $ but 79 $ on Amazon US  (I mean 15$, it's not really overcharged x1.5 or 2 or later jack-up because it's Europe !)

Here are the Specs
http://www.tpdz.net/en/products/vx3/index.htm

I have no clue on the caractéristics and no competence so I'm relying on Head-Fi :
Did Head-Fi  ever mention this equipement ?
Would Head-Fi or members be interested to advise audio fans about it ?

Merci beaucoup
Cheers from Paris

Haven't seen much about the VX3, but the A30 is the new Amp that pairs with the D30!

Hi,

I'm currently using a Topping D30 connected to my PC via USB for playback of hi-res (24/96) music files. I use the A30 headphone amp along with a set of Roth Audio VA4 active speakers and as I understand it the difference between the A30 and VX3 is that the A30 is a headphone-only amp and the VX3 includes a power amp to drive speakers.

Exact :smirk:
That's what I thought so.
So my set is complete until I choose a headphone amp.
VX3 Bluetooth 4.0 35 w and D30DSD for Notebook and TV
(speakers are Broadband Fostex 12" mounted in TWQT)
It's excellent and transparent for a medium size room

How does the setup sound? I have an A30 in the box here and I have a D30 in the mail lol

Sorry my English isn't so quick as yours :relieved:
The set up sounds nice and transparent no fatigue listening and since I use Tidal or my playlist with R128 sound leveling it's almost "music non stop".
The VX3 Bluetooth 4.0 is just there for convenience among friends or my kids with smartphones : "let me listen what you like" ...
I'm not a "connaisseur" in cans but in more in speakers and I don't regret one bit Topping with small broadband - but not even in bass-reflex cabinets just 1/4 wave length.

Great to hear!
I have a set of Klipsch R-15PM with bluetooth also, but most of my "around the house" listening is done on my 2x Denon Heos 3 via Spotify or Amazon Music.

Hello
Well it's a system not for me but my son actually (the 1st)

I gave it a long listening on my speakers with as samples https://ianwilliamcraig.bandcamp.com/album/meaning-turns-to-whispers
On my headset with https://doctorl.bandcamp.com/track/yello-bright-tune

I would need to upgrade the weakest link which are my son's speakers but it really depends on music genre (speakers are DIY by me)
As for me it's quite an experience with my Philips SHP9500 so I guess that would be MY weakest link (sorry can't afford more than 150 bucks). It's a little low on power with the VX3 but sometimes i suffer from mild tinnitus as I spend over 2 hours with headset per day (Home/Subway/buses to work/ect) .. so R128 soundlevelling on Jriver is perfect and the Amp is set at @ 12am max.
I happy how the all Music Home Network set up with JRiver (common libraries / change automatically the driver setup depending on the station) but I can't afford to buy Dac/Amps for every room ;)
Once this is done during the year I expect to buy lot more 24bits Lp's from Qobuz !

All in all I highly approve, it's a reasonable investment with good services

Hi, I have question regarding connecting the VX3 to my current A30/D30 setup if you can help.

Is it possible to have the VX3 connected to the D30 as a source then to the A30, I listen with my Headphone through A30. What cable needed if this is possible, I will be using the VX3 as a Bluetooth receiver mainly on the set and maybe add a set of speaker later on.

Hello
There is not much too play around on the VX3.
If you look to the A30 as your only headphone use then connect the jack output of the VX3 to either what's available on the D30.
Maybe jack2coax
The switch between jack/rca output on the VX3 is automatic and exclusive : either one nor the other [watch out the sound level ! :relieved: ]
That's first, but then I have no clue about the A30 input abilities afterwards so it may be simpler than that ..?
Cheers

It seems the easiest connection to D30/A30 is to connect A30 to VX3 (RCA ---> RCA), but then it will not benefit from he D30's decoder when I use the Bluetooth.

I am considering your suggestion to connect the VX3 to D30, but I am not sure what cables to use. Can you post a picture of a cable that would work for such set up?
