Exact Audio Copy (EAC) encoder question

i'm using eac for the first time and had a question. i want to use lame to encode mp3, and have the settings thus:

after i ripped ok computer, i only got the .wav files not the mp3. do i need to change these settings?

Go to EAC/EAC Options/Tools, and make sure the box for "On extraction start external compression queued in the background" is checked, and the number is set to one. Also make sure you are hitting Shirft+F5 to when you want to rip your CD's which tells it to rip and compress, not just rip.

-edit- i tried that and lame.exe opens for a sec, but the track is not encoded.

You might try just ripping to .wav and then using a LAME front end like razorLAME to rip those .wavs into mp3. This is what I do after having problems with EAC compressing to mp3.
