I am thinking of getting a pair of ex51 as I heard them from a friend. I am a huge basshead and their bass was surprising. I must get a pair. I hear they are cheap, but after looking around the 'net I found two models. Is one better than the other?

AFAIK, the only difference between the two is the length of the cable.

SP = short with an extension cord
LP = long

If you're using it with a remote, get the SP. Otherwise, the LP is less annoying because the extension cord connector swings and gets in the way.

Unless you take into account the negligible difference to the signal path, there should be no audible sonic difference.

SP=Short
LP=Long.

If you want a cheap bassy earphone, consider the EP630 or CX300. I have the EP630 and its much better than a EX51/71. Its bass are as strong as well.
