Hey folks,

I used to own Klipsch Image S4 headphones, and owned them for a little less than a year before they broke last week - seems as if the wire near the housing part tore off on the right ear, yielding that side soundless. Unfortunately, I bought them used so they are warranty-less.

Hence, as I await my tax return, I am looking for new IEM's in that price range. I enjoy good-sounding phones, but am rather frugal as well, so I'm not going to shell out like $300 for a new pair.

I did enjoy the S4's alot, but suffice to say due to durability I won't be buying them again. And although I did like the bass response on them, it's not necessarily a make-or-break thing for me. I listen to classic rock (Led, The Doors, etc.), as well as electronic (Deadmau5, etc.) and hip-hop and a whole lot of other stuff including some classical/orchestral.

I have been looking a lot and am very interested in the Etymotic MC5's. Any thoughts on them/other IEM's to look into? It would be greatly appreciated...thanks!
