hello,
after years without sound setup, i decided to investisment :relieved:

i recently buy dac/amp smsl m500 for my akg k340 med (stocked few years) and isn h40
actually my source is my pc and nothing else (never change or eventually my phone)
in few days, i receive denon ah-d7200 and one dt-770 250ohm (I already had it in the past, it will serve as a headphone for every day to play game/movie/serie)

i'm not cleary satisfaying. the isn h40 is not clear in med/treble, it's puffy, but bass is here but slobbery
akg k340 is only for the special system, not the best of the best but i like it

I search an iem and headphone with bass (not slobbery bass, present bass but dry)

in my research i found this headphone:
fostex th900
denon ah-d7200 (coming soon)
Sony MDR-XB1000 (1999)

iem:
oriolus szalayi
Mest MKII
monarch mkII
Solaris OG

what my listen to:
a lot of things... principaly electro (db, dub, hardcore..). then also jazz, rap, metal, 90s electro I really listen everything

I know, you will probably need headphones for electro and another for everything jazz / metal etc.

thanks for your advices

Hi @Enok
If you don't mind, I would like to recommend you our CIEM Argentum. It fits your description of music very well. It is also on the lighter side of your budget. You can get it in either a universal or custom body depending on your needs. Let me know if you have any questions. You can also take a look on the forum reviews of our products, or what people say in dedicated threads :)

One thing to remember with a CIEM is it's for life. There's no reselling it for any reason so good or bad you're stuck with it. So you better be sure it's what you want and don't plan on changing. Even then consider it to be replaced by a new model in 3-4 years if not sooner. In the IEM game the king doesn't keep his crown for long.

That's a fair point. But very often the King is more different than better, especially in the last 2 years. So I wouldn't diminish a good pair of customs, that suit your personal taste.
Additionally, the use case can make CIEM a better option: long usage time, loud environment, unusual ear canal shape.
