JUST one more thing, that to me is fundamental: are they made in Japan or not? Anybody knows that?

i saw a somewhat high res sic online where it said made in china on the headband, so i guess not japan. But is'nt at a us based company? So how did japan come into the picture?

Maybe they have some big things in the USA, (like everything else) but I would say that it is japanese... what about Beretta or FIAT?

Box says they're made in Taiwan.

Most AT phones are made in Japan, don't know what these have switched, but these have been getting rave reviews from sound engineers and people who just listen to music alike... Also just certified by the METAlliance: METAlliance Certifies Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Headphones

Should have gotten the straight cord though
Easily driven by a DAP
My "starving student" amp makes them sound even better
