Just watched Perfume - the story of a murderer and I realized that if you replaced perfume with headphones, smell with music and the killings with using more money than [insert guilty feeling of choice here] you would end up in a very familiar pattern. Ever wondered why patterns are so alike no matter what or where when it comes to guilty pleasure and/or strife for excellence?

Does it have to be this way? - Are we humans bound to go into some pattern or is it the world around us that dislikes strifes for excellence and force one to go below the radar?
