That's the most important thing, you have to decide for yourself.  Haven't heard the 650 myself but they do have a lot of fans.  One very important thing:  try to approach your home system as much as possible (meaning:  if at all feasible, take your amp or audition them on the gear you're going to purchase).  And take your fav. music and take your time, it's not something that can be decided in 10 minutes, try a couple of cans.  That being said, even 10 minutes is better than nothing.

That is what makes this hobby so fun (sometimes stressful) - the searching process Ill report back my findings. I will bring my portable setup which is a modest Fiio E11 with line out into an 4th generation IPOD touch. Of course I also need to upgrade my DAC and amp......sorry wallet.
