Your question suggests a mod for Etys and other in-the-canal phones: why couldn't those ubiquitous, moldable silicone earplugs sold in drug stores for noise attenuation, be used to jury-rig a disposable earmold? (I got custom earmolds for my Etys and they're very comfortable.)
Something that just now occurs to me is that the silicone plugs have some sort of oily residue. Maybe this would attack the plastic if not the money part of the phones if it migrated to the inside.
Anyone try this?
