This is some immense influence! First you pulled off the EVO tour, then this. I'm very thankfulWhile staying out of the debate here, I was voicing my concern and opinion to Etymotic...![]()

More like I have good ideas, and convey them well...This is some immense influence! First you pulled off the EVO tour, then this. I'm very thankful
That's awesome! Best part is I don't think the EVO even needs it, but glad Ety has the confidence to stand behind that anyway.
It's made by a completely different manufacturer and process, so don't think we can call this one apples to apples. Wouldn't the cable be a wear-and-tear item anyway? The cord likely needs it, if its anything like past ER4 cords.

Did you take a look at mine? I specifically addressed the cable in my review. The cable broke easily (sound to left or right side would cut out) and fortunately was covered by warranty. I haven't used the new one but at least one review pointed out that it seems thin. So if it's not very robust it would be a good thing if it were also covered.
In my experience, the Linum cable is quite robust. I have an ACS Evolve that uses the BaX. I have to admit that I don't use them too frequently, but it is still working properly after 4 years. I also have a Linum Super BaX, which I use more frequently and is working fine after 2 years. The cord likely needs it, if its anything like past ER4 cords.
The real question is, does the 2-year warranty cover the cable for EVO? The clip of my ER4SR broke, and the dealer here told me accessories aren't covered.

Thanks, I've updated my review draft accordingly as well!Good news:
I brought to Etymotic's attention the whole 1-year warranty for EVO (vs. 2-year warranty for ER2/3/4).
Etymotic looked into it, and decided to correct the situation!

Quick question: what do you think the sound differences are between the ER4SR and the ACS Evolve? Which is better in your opinion? I assume you got the soft-sillicone-custom version of the ACS? I had my eye on that one, for that reason, and supposedly great sound. In my experience, the Linum cable is quite robust. I have an ACS Evolve that uses the BaX. How does it compare to some of the other famous BA IEM, like Sony ier-m7 m9 or Andromeda?
