Hi all,

I recently sold my ER-6 cans. The buyer called me stating the small silver (retainer?) ring came off with the silicon tip.
He has also just registered here at Head-Fi, but not activated yet.
Hopefully he can chime in soon.

I am having a hard time understanding what exactly is broken. Hard to tell from the pic. I am not here to debate how this happened, but instead find out how to fix it.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Is it a matter of just pressing it back on?

or

Should it be sent in to Etymotic for repair?

Something else?

Thanks for any & all help!

Todd

Here is a pic he took.

Did you buy it new and how long ago was that? The standard warranty for the ER6 is 90 days, but if you registered it then your warranty gets bumped to 1 year. I would call etymotic before you try to fix it. That may void your warranty if you have any left. They are the best to answer your question.

Hi DJGeorgeT

They are out of warranty, & the plan is to call Etymotic on Monday.

Thanks

Ouch! That looks like a clean break.
