A while back I bought Grado RS2is. Love em. Love everything about them, crystal clear and airy.

Anyways,

My HF5s sound muddy now. I don't know if I just got used to my Grados or there is something wrong with them.

I got new filters, got new ear tips but it sounds muddy.

I've had them for over 2 years.

Am I out of luck? Do I need to upgrade my IEMS?

If so what would give me the most clarity and similar sound to my Grados for under $200?

Thanks

Muddy is possibly the last word i would use to describe HF5s.. You mentioned you changed the filters, perhaps that has something to do with it?

If you liked the HF5, go look at the PFE 121. I believe it's around $160 (could be wrong)

$400 RS2i with boosted treble compared to $100 Etymotic HF5 with neutral treble...? I mean, apples and oranges...

The CK10, DBA-2, B2, GR01 are highly recommende because they are bright and highly resolving IEMs.
