 I'm looking to buy a new iem. I have had in the past the AL im716s and really liked how they sound. I've been looking at the ER-6i and the newer HF5 P. I would love to get the ER-4s but that's not in the budget right now.
 
I'm not a bass head but do like smooth bass and a nice midrange with a smooth top end. My favorite sound sig out of all the phones I've tried is the Grado sound.

 I'll answer myself. I did enough digging around to read the HF5P's are a large enough upgrade from the ER-6i to warrant the extra cost. That's what I went with, the HF5p.

Nice work researching. And from what I have read, HF5 seems to have more bass quantity compared to other Ety's.

I read the same. They are suppose to be great for rock music. Most of my collection is classic rock and blues.
