Ety amp help

I agree with linuxjunkie and the Xin superdual..my ety 4p's never sounded so rich! I don't have much amp experience..I want to get a supermacro eventually to which I would still keep my superdual. I have it on the back of my vaja case with a jmt mini to mini..and I couldn't be more pleased. If you could get a hold of one here in the classified..I would highly recommend it. My wife also freaked over the sound and uses it quite regularly..something I would never dreamed I'd see!!

I have both. Will part with neither. My vote is for the SM. But don't forget to invest in a Sik Din to get the best, line-out quality (after you get your 4G Ipod, of course).

I'd suggest that you wait for your 4G iPod, follow that up with a Sik Din (or PocketDock), decent mini-mini cable, and run your Etys, preferably with the S adapter, out of an amp using the lineout, not the headphone jack. I've used an amp with my 2G iPod—headphone jack as the only way to go—and it was not an improvement to my ears. It's just amplifying the mediocre internal amp of the iPod, so I prefer to go ampless. Only when I upgrade my iPod will I put an amp in the picture.

I've been using an iPod (first a 2G, and now a 4G) with my Ety 4p for nearly two years.

Yesterday I received a Xin SuperMicro and a SIK Din adapter. What a difference! Of course, I spent quality time comparing the line-out/SuperMicro to simply using the headphone port. The new detail is incredible... the bass is improved.

I installed a new lithium AAA battery in the SuperMicro, and will try to keep an eye on its longevity.

I am expecting a XIN 75ohm adapter any day (it shipped today), which effectively converts the 4p into a 4s, and I'm anxious to hear the difference.

This is my first experience using a headphone amp, and I'm afraid there's no going back <vbg>

if you liked the amp and sik din with the er4p, it will be much better with the 4s. much more detail, maybe a little less boom on the bass, but tighter. the 4s brings out the benefits of an amp more than the 4p does.

I was excited for a second there! But yes, I am looking at amps in preperation for getting my 4G as I understand it really wouldn't help all that much running it out of the headphone jack on my 2g
