Well today was quite a bummer. I was going to enjoy some music when in the process of putting them on, one of the plastic joints snapped off.

I'm sure some epoxy might be able to hold them together, but I'm unsure of how long such a fix will last. Seeing as they were a limited production run, is there any chance to get this remedied by Audio-Technica directly, or will I have to go towards the DIY fix route? I absolutely love these headphones and want to get this fixed in the best way possible.

Really sorry to see that.  I love everything about these headphones except for that one part; the build is really fragile.. That is one area of the headphones that I'm extra careful with all the time because it just feels really filmsy and has a lot of creak to it.  I always hold the top end of that swivel joint tightly while swiveling the cups into the wearing position veeery slowly...

I'd think that you'd have to deal with Audio Technica Japan directly for this, but I'd think that they probably would have some replacement parts/service for them, they have dozens of "limited edition" headphones in various headphone series after all, I'm sure many of the others break sometimes as well and they'd have to have some spare replacement parts.  I'd probably guess that it'd be costly, though, sending it overseas and it being limited edition and all.

Best of luck.
