so i tried my friend's e2c and e3's.

i liked the e2cs a lot, the e3s had some old foamies which i didnt like that much.

they were both very good, and also very good amped. well, the e2c was very detailed when amped, but the problem with both of the cans:

they are too bright!
they have echo-y highs!
well i liked them, but the the highs were too ...echoy and they're too bright for my tastes...

well i guess i want lush and thick mids, clear and natural highs and adequate bass.

i listen to a lot of rock and metal so the guitar rhythm stuff should sound really good. also i need some good jazz/fusion sound off it too! just clean, natural sound =].
i have a high end cmoy, would this be enough? could i run er6i's unamped?

so are the er6i's or er6's right for me?

or what other thoughts would u guys have?

thanks a lot for this!

The ER6i's are NOT for you. If you found the Shure E2 and E3 too bright, the ER6i would be ear piercingly bright.

I think you might not have had a good seal, the E2 and E3 should not sound bright.

I'd suggest to go with something like the Superfi Pro 5 (maybe the EB model)

i dont know if i could afford the super 5....

the super.fi 3 i could, the price here is not that bad.

you think i am looking for these?

or should i be looking at the senn hd-25? because no one has been poining me towards that too much heh...
or smoe other nice headphone with thick mids and clear highs

edit: okay i'll be trying the e2cs tmr again =]..but the highs were very echoy and "fake"...
