Wow, after some 5 months of use, I still feel I have made the best purchase of my life. A Zune and a pair of Etymotic ER4P's make a perfect pair. I need a better pic for my Avatar though.

Thanks everyone who helped me pick them.

the battery life and the Microsoft DRM still dosnt convince me on the zune, but i hear that the sound quality is very very good, i guess its not just a recycled toshiba gigabit player,

congrats on the buy, and double the congrats if you´re happy with it,

btw, halo 3 edition zune, cool,

Th battery life is good but you have to do the right things first.

-Turn off the wireless, you don't need it.
-Put the backlight on 5 second turnoff

If you do this you could easiley get 15-20 hours out of it. I can anyways.

Do you watch video on it? On my Zune that drains the battery fairly quickly!

Sounds good with the PX-100 and the E3g though...

I think the IEM are helping him getting that high battery life. I bet he keeps the volume in the low area like 5-8

I let my Zune play overnight the past two nights.
My Backlight Setting: low
Backlight Timer Setting: 5 sec
Wifi: (On/Off) Off
Volume Setting: 15
Shuffle mode (Music only): (On/Off) ON
Headphone: Sennheiser PX-100

Both nights the Zune turned off after a bit over 8 hours. First night I played mostly WMA 250k (encoded using wma pro 10 with dbpoweramp), the second night all Lame MP3 "extreme", equivalent to the wma 250k...
Same for mp3 "standard", 8+ hours.

The 4P's do not require am amp, not designed for one. I am happily using the 5.5G iPod with my ER-4P's, nice combo. Simple and high-quality sound.

Yet another test last night, this time with my iem Shure E3g, and the volume at 8. To my surprise, after a bit less than 8 hours the Zune is out of battery! So with the PX-100 on volume 15 it lasts longer, hmmm...
