It seems to me that as much as I like Headroom, $22.00 shipped seems a little steep for 3 pairs of replacement tips for the ER-6's.
Can they be had elsewhere at a more reasonable price?

You can try buying them directly from etymotic. Its a little hard to find their accesories page. I had to click on their product list and next to the ER-6 entry is a rectangle button labelled ACCESSORIES. click on that.
