As shown in this site, ER-4 requires EQ to achieve "better" sound

I have the following settings on the EMU PatchMix:
1 Band Para EQ: 7500Hz -8.0dB 5.0semitones
1 Band Para EQ: 2500Hz -5.0dB 5.0semitones
In my own uncontrolled testing, I find that EQ results in a more pleasant sound.
I was wondering if I am doing the EQ correctly as the graph isn't very precise and also the EQ is intended for the ER-4S, but I am currently using the ER-4P without the P to S adaptor.
