1983...A Merman I Should Turn to Be
Jimi Hendrix Experience

A drop-dead epic. Wonderful enormous theme/submerged soundscape and years before 'Oceanic' -but I'll have that too!

And can I also have The Doors: When the Music's Over? Ta.

Sigur Ros in general, but "Untitled #8" from ( ) in particular.

Fiery Furnaces - "Quay Cur" from Blueberry Boat. Title track, as well.

Joanna Newsom - "Emily" or "Only Skin" from Ys.

Which album is that off of? Is it one of the "untitled" tracks from ( ) that actually have titles? Oh, and Sigur Ros live are incredible - seen 'em twice while they were touring for Takk, and I was blown away.

I saw them once and I was blown away as well. Haffssol is off of their second album, but the live version is the one you want. I heard it when they played in Ottawa and was amazed by it. That night I posted to a fan site forum: "what was that cool song where the bassist uses a drum stick?" Hafssol I was told! But then when I threw on the disc...it sure was not the same. So I posted again and they told me it was a live only thing. Off I went to get copies of the concert. However! They released Hoppípolla last year, a CD single and a live version of Hafssol is on it!

RUN to the store tomorrow to get it

Hah, yes, now I know exactly what song you're talking about - didn't realize they actually released a live version of it, how cool.

Brings back memories of a great concert - definitely thought that song would be the high point, until they encored with Untitled 8 ...

Man, I wish I saw that show. Untitled 8 will always have a place in my heart.

Glory of Love-by Chicago. It gives me the impression of epic love, or at least of the old-fashioned chivalrous love.

Not sure of the epic meaning.

x2 Echoes - Pink Floyd
Ocean Cloud - Marillion
Journey to the Center of the Earth - Rick Wakeman

Or

Atlantis - Donovan
Tales of Brave Ulysses - Cream
Mother Russia - Renaissance

Or

x2 Stairway to Heaven - Zep
Dust in the Wind - Kansas
Bridge of Sighs - Robin Trower
