Just as the title said. Amazon has these within $15 of each other, and I need an IEM/earbuds.

Which of the two would offer better SQ? I'm trying to stick to a budget of under $50, since my E3cs heavily dissapointed me and I have way too many headphones here already.

I've seen mixed opinions about ep630
I've not seen much regarding im616... but I bought one and it should be here tomorrw.

I don't know how ep630 compares to other dynamic canal phones. But if it's comparable to panasonic hje50 (which I really enjoyed esp after a sony ex71 experience btw), I would get im616, since many seem to prefer im616 over er6i, and I prefer er6i over hje50. Weird logic but that kinda works I think.

Besides, considering that ep630 isn't "really" in sale compared to im616, which is priced kinda insanely low in my opinion, it might make more sense to get im616.

I have the iM616s. They're definitely worth the $44 they are on Amazon now. From what I've read they don't have the bass of the EP630, but are probably better in other respects. Since they aren't exactly the same type of headphone, application should factor in here some.

Listening to the Im616's as I write. They are a great value for the money. I would agree that they are bass shy, but not anemic. Plus, they are very efficient. Certianly one of the better phones for under $50.

Cheers,

Jason
