I just bought this headphone, because I found the HD457 uncomfortable and the MDRXD200 to sound muddy. I just needed something comfy with exceptable sound and a long cord for my TV. These things have pretty darn good sound. It wasn't hitting frequency extremes but it did give a balanced bass and mid-range with some treble sparkle. Very much like a Sennheiser HD201, but not lacking in bass.

And I'm guessing this is an entry-level into the high, high end Philips 'phones such as the HP910.

I don't know, I'm not really going anywhere with this thread, just thought I'd mention this good 'phone.
