On a similar note, the same edition also has a head-to-head test of the headphone amp duo the ASL MG-Head OTL 32 DT and the Ray Samuels Audio Emmeline Stealth.

Yeah, interesting article but with at least one grave mistake.
In the conclusion the author says that you cannot test the UE 10 pro before ordering.
Ther German distributor FischerAmps offers generic UE 10 pro for a short testing period. You will only have to send them back. That is 5 $ which might be a very wise investment.
The generics did not fit very well but they convinced me to order a set and do not wait for the Shure E500s.
I cannot imagine UE does not have the same thing.
