I’m thinking about auditioning a Stax headphone that’s of a higher level than my current L700mkII.

What energizer is best with Stax x9000?

Would the 700t be good enough for it, or won’t it be good enough for the x9000?

I know that there are many other manufacturers that build great, or even better energizers, but I really need a balance control (left/right) and I haven’t been able to find that function in Qobuz.

Lots of options out there but I don’t know of any other than stax range that have balance control. I’m sure the 009s would doing great with your 700t but the issue with x9000 is its character is very relaxed compared to l700 and you may find that off putting. My current thinking is that the specialist amp builders may need more time to build something that matches well to the x9000 and wakes it up a bit. I’d stick with 700t for now.
