Hold the phone folks.

Drilling Mu-Metal is bad, just like welding tool steel can be bad. You dont want to introduce heat because it will cause the molecules to "spred" apart, creating an area of lower sheilding. If you can hand drill the hole very slowly you might be ok, or use a cooled cutting oil. The issue here is heat, heat, heat, and because mu-metal is so thin its very sensitive.

Batteries are not capacitors, if they were they would be called capacitors. they have different properties are made of different materials, and react differently to outside influences. You are right however that they can do some of the same things. I can use my computer monitor hammer in a nail but it dosent mean I should or that it should be called a hammer.
