Got an EMU1212 recently and was mucking around trying to figure out how to get balanced output from it. I've got a pair of DIYed Mono 1/4" Phone plugs made with RCA connectors on the other end. But now I've got an amp that can take balanced inputs via XLR connectors. I read thru the manual and the only balanced output is via the TSR output on the daughter card. Does it mean that all I have to do is change the RCA connectors to XLRs and connect that to my amp? If so, then how do I do it since the XLR got 3 pins and the phono plug has only a signal channel and an earth.

If you look in the E-MU's manual it will show how to properly wire the 1/4 TSR plugs with THREE connectors as necessary for balanced. You can then wire them to the appropriate three connections on your XLR plug.

edit: see Page 101 in the E-MU1212m Help File (Manual)

Not the kind you're thinking of... not Headroom Balanced amp, not Headamp GSX. Its a stax amp! The SRM-006t

. Curious how it would sound balanced. Was using a SRM-1/MKII.
