I just picked up a 1212 sound card off ebay for cheap and I am hoping I can get it to work. It doesnt come with install disc or daughter card. I am just looking for digital out anyway since my HK does a good job with D/A. Will I be able to get this card to work with just the driver download from Emu support? I am hoping to use itunes for storage and soundcard to avr. Any advise? Thanks

This is a 1212m without the analog daughter card. But I unable to advise is it able to work without the daughter card, though what you want is just digital output only.

Yes I am only looking for the digital output only. Although I might pursue the daughter card if someone is able to tell me that the analog would out perform my HK635.

Just plug that into your PC and download the newest software on creative's site. That is all you need. You do not need the 2nd board.

If you want ASIO bit perfect you have to insert a send strip in patchmix.

If I recall correctly, you can download the patchmix from EMU website. But it is a must for the card to work.

You will need both Patch Mix and Drivers to run..E-MU has both on their Web site that are new and will work with out the CD.
