I'm wondering if you NEED to run at LEAST SP1 with XP to install 0404 or will it work without any Service Packs?

if the computer concerned is connected to the internet, then you will probably find that very *little* will work after a few days being connected to the internet without a service pack. When your system is stuffed with spyware and is being used to send out half of America's spam output you probably would want to deal with that before thinking about the soundcard

. Basically, disregarding the sound card entirely, it's insane to run XP without service packs on a machine with any kind of internet connection.

SP1 is needed for 192khz operation and the latest 0404 driver gave it 192khz operation. I don't know know if the installation program scans for SP1 installation. I don't know if running previous driver which supported 96khz max would work without SP1.

Why not email them? Most people would run the latest software always.

I think you do need it for the latest driver update? Are you using the latest drivers?
