Hello!

I thought I had bought the perfect headphone amplifier, the Emotiva A-100.

However, I have problems with static noise in the headphone output when there is not being played any music. The jumpers are not installed, and I am using Sennheiser HD700's.

Can anything be done to remove or minimize the static, or should I return the unit?

Possibly a ground loop issue...

Try removing one of the ground paths in a component of your system, thus converting the system to a single point ground.

Try a different AC plug socket.

Might also be a good idea to double check all your connections as well (i.e. interconnects, headphone cables, power cables)... even swap them out if you do have extras to see if any might be damaged, poorly made, and/or have faulty connectors.
