Hello.
I've been using a XP-7 on power supply for a couple of years. I've never used it on batteries. Recently, the power supply went bad (start with weird and loud noises) and I couldn't figure out what problem is it, so I'm forgetting about the PS and starting to use this amp with batteries now.
My question is: How am I suppose to know when I need to change the batteries? It may be a silly question, but I've heard that using head amps with low batteries can damage the headphone... I'm on the first pair of alkaline Duracel for maybe 30h and I've started to notice some sound distortions. I think this might be the cue to change the batteries. But is this situation somehow dangerous to my headphones and the amp itself?
I've been also thinking about grabbing a couple of Ni-Mh 450Mah rechargeable batteries. Is there any important tip I should be aware of while using them?
Thanks in advance.
