A well-done review by Phil Gold.

I would have liked to see CDSA SE vs. Meitner separates, but one can't have it all

Thanks for the link.

I completely agree with Gold's assessment of the Emm when compared to the G08. In my brief impressions of the Emm gear, I found the very same areas of improvement: resolution, dynamics and soundstage. Of course, these are three of the most important aspects of digital playback, so that isn't saying as much about my reliability as a listener as it is about the quality of the Emm gear. In short, the Emm is superior in every way. It should be noted that these improvements are not limited to the SE versions of the gear. I have the standard versions and came to the same conclusions.

Considering the price difference between the two players, it does not make much sense to use either as a benchmark against the other. At the time of the review he didn't have access to the player he should have been comparing it to (808). For a published review, notes and memory are not the best references when comparing sources of this caliber.

I must say that I recommend the Audiofederation report over the Enjoythemusic report if one wishes to get an idea of the quality of Emm gear.
