Like the thread title says, is there any effect on the SQ by embedding album art internally within FLAC? My concerns may be unfounded, but I have heard reports that some implementations have affected samples within FLAC.

I don't see how it could affect anything when it is done properly by a decent application. You can always uncompress back to wav (which will remove all tags and pictures afaik) and see if the filesize has changed.

It'll be fine as long as you don't store them on a Samsung HD.  Western Digital and Seagate are fine, but the Samsung drive will destroy the soundstage.

For years I embed the album art in the audio in all formats supporting this including FLAC.
Never had a problem.

That probably explains why I can't tell the difference between 320 kbps and FLAC!
