I’m not a cable believer but I did change the cable out for a Hakugei one as I didn’t like the stiffness of the stock cable.

I don’t know if there’s any sonic changes and I don’t care to a/b but since I have switched cables, I do find I enjoy the pilgrim a lot more have nothing to complain about in terms of its tuning or how it sounds.

I think it’s a fantastic iem for the price. My favourite iem sub $500 - I prefer it over the Mega5est.

Of course this is just my opinion and based on my experience with the pilgrim, and my preferences will differ to others.

Hakugei will let you customise and have pentaconn connectors. So I went with the pentaconn connectors and a modular L jack plug. Here’s mine:

Again, I’m not saying it did make a difference. But I feel like it sounds better now and enjoying it more - but I’m fully aware that it’s likely placebo, and preferring the aesthetics and feel of a cable being used, also makes me enjoy the iem more.

Did you listen to the noir as well? Any comparison impressions?
Not sure who you’re replying to sorry, but I haven’t. Should get to at CJ in two weeks.

actually between noir and megaest its very close unless you keep doing back to back A/B testing.. at least the vocals sound similar (maybe a big thicker in noir) and i think I can hear more details in noir but i think I love both sets.. now I just need to decide if I want to try pilgrim with ares cable of noir or not.. but its so expensive to try and then sell iems

I believe cable can make a slight difference, but the OG Pilgrim with EA Ares S cable completely changed the sound. I couldn't believe what I hear too but it is real.

Closing on my sunday with this beautiful setup, Elysian Pilgrim with Vortex Elsa cable. Together both the sets sounds quite good, i feel the Elsa adds a bit of punch in the mid-bass section giving the bass a bit more body and smoothening out the treble a bit. Overall a good combination for me.

Nice, but it is a $441 cable on a $399 IEM :).

I'm delighted with my new Pilgrim. I was going to wait for the HiFiGo tour, but I had a very good feeling about this IEM, from its beautiful design to its inspiring name. A special occasion in my life gave me the last excuse I needed to buy it outright.
I have not had such a deeply satisfying musical experience from any other IEM before, so I'm putting together a portable system based on feedback I've read here and elsewhere with a Cayin RU7.

Would the Cayin be a good choice with the Pilgrim? Better options?

Elysian's website recommends the Effect Audio Cadmus 4W cable to complete the Pilgrim as originally conceived. Has anyone else tried this combination? Oh, and I don't care about cable controversies, whatsoever. I think the cable is simply gorgeous with its selenite fittings. The Cadmus pushes all my male jewelry buttons. I'll just think of it as a more functional tie!

The Pilgrim OG is fantastic on the RU7. But then again there aren't many things that don't sound great on the RU7. 😉

RU7 and DC Elite are two dongles I would be looking to add as a source, have heard a lot of great things about both and have heard DC Elite, and found to be the best dongle in terms of resolution and smoothness to the sound

Why effect audio logo is there in the connector? It is from vortex right?
