Congrats on the elysian pilgrim. I would agree with you on stage. It's not the widest but it presents front and back depth well. Instrument separation, layring and imaging performance is excellent for the price.

Thanks so much, we appreciate the love.

Finished my write up on the Pilgrim and Pilgrim Noir. Spoiler alert: I like the Noir more but I would buy the OG out of the two.

With it's current price to performance, I don't think so. But that's a very good point to bring up as well. If I was to pretend that OG Pilgrim didn't exist at all or wasn't even an option, I'd probably still think no but that's primarily due to the cost vs performance.

At $799, you're very close to some of the kilobuck IEMs whether it's used or new. A used Diva 2023 can go for around $1000 or so and that's worth saving up to. You can get a 7th Acoustics Supernova in this price range (had a chance to listen to that and it's great as well) for $849. Thieaudio Hype 10 is around this place and while I prefer original Pilgrim to Hype 4 and I haven't heard the Hype 10, I feel like the Hype 10 would probably give more bang for buck.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking getting the Supernova too.. but in the end I still bought the noir since there's no og pilgrim in stock and I'm really curious with Elysian IEM.

As much as I may have just bagged on the Noir, I love Elysian (Diva and Annihilator are fantastic) and I think it's a very good entry into the marketplace (with the Noir having my preferred sound preference between it and the original). I hope you love yours!

Just unboxed the noir... Boy, the box is stupidly large without any added functions... Such a waste..
Now I've to find space to squeeze the box in. 😅

It really is, isn't it! a bit unnecessary. The Noir is a great iem imo though - enjoy.

Really like the noir, especially its vocal.... Though on the first listening it sounded like lacking some bass and treble compared to moondrop variations.IMG20240904222812.jpg

Do you have any other tips? Try some tip rolling to see if that helps.

After listening some more, it's not really missing some bass and treble. It's just not as noticeable compared to moondrop variations.

Got some JVC spiral dots, gonna try it tomorrow.
Variations is quite v shaped with a very Harmanesque elevated upper mids, which the noir doesn’t have.

I much prefer the Noir, and have owned the variations previously, but that’s just my subjective opinion.

To me the Noir is smoother, but also more refined and resolving.
