Elysian Annihilator 2023

While the Sony WM1Z can drive the Annihilator 23 to acceptable levels, the pairing didn't quite resonate with me. Both the WM1Z and the Anni 23 have a somewhat thicker sound signature, which in this combination, seemed to diminish the magic of the Anni 23's high frequencies.

The Anni 23 is definitely a power-hungry IEM. It scales quite well with better sources and amplification. Here's my subjective ranking of how various setups I have perform with the Anni 23

WM1Z <<<< N8ii<dx320 max ti<<<MScaler+Dave<<WA33 Elite Edition
A bit late to the party, but sharing my experience as well:

Based upon @RSC08 signature, I assume we are talking about the original WM1Z (2016 model).

The original Sony firmware experience is alright, but definitely not the best possible combination. The Mr. Walkman custom firmware mod is a must have, the synergy will be great after that, showcasing the strong suits of the IEM.

The firmware's new high gain option is also going to provide more power, which is essential for this IEM - as musicinmymind mentioned the Annihilator 2023 is benefiting a lot from a powerful source device, so on the long run I would still recommend either a stronger source device or if you would like to keep the WM1Z as your only source a hardware mod is the way to go (NP Audio's EXPMv5 for example) to get the most out of this combination.

These are the widest ear tips I've seen thus far, even wider than the Eletech Baroque.
*The first pic has the Eletech Baroque on the top, Divinus velvet wide bore middle and regular bore at the bottom.

Material is the same as the regular, just that with the wider bore, the ear tips feels harder and more solid.
First impressions, was using the Spinfit omni previously and have to say the immediate thing that jumped out was the wider soundstage.
Bass feels slightly more controlled. Very early impressions thus YMMV and pls feel free to share your impressions if you get/have them👍

@dleblanc343 can't wait to hear your impressions!

Looks like Effect Audio's 2023 Christmas cable. It's an 8w cable made up of a 4w Ares S and 4w Cadmus.

You might be right. That splitter looks like an EA splitter.
