Indeed, procuring unique and quality leathers has been getting difficult post Covid and in recent times. Many independant tanneries has closed down due to economical pressure or simply decided to dabble in other crafts. Prices of from big name suppliers has been increasing and hence doesn't make alot of sense for us to invest more on the same piece of leather that was previously offered at a fraction of current costs.

Hence we've been slow and hesitant to craft another case project.

Glad that you're enjoying the Raphael! Which IEM are you pairing it with?

Very much looking forward to your leather works @Eric Chong

I bought Raphael during Black Friday sales, to be paired with my FF Grand Maestro (which hopefully should come around March/April). Heard the Raph synergizes well with the GM.

Right now I'm using Raphael with Monarch MK2. Overly tames the already smooth MMK2 treble so wouldn't say the combo is perfect, but makes Mmk2 bass texture punchier with slightly improved subbass extension, and the mids are more forward and sweet, with a little more micro details. Staging is slightly improved, overall bigger. Ergonomics are on point too. Great cable.

Can't wait to see how it pairs with the Grand Maestro (whenever that comes lol).

What is the sound signature of the Victoria and how is it vs the Raphael? (Since both have GPC). I'm curious because Victoria's blue colour is tempting.

Victoria is a region specific tuning requested by the HK distributor, they go for an unabashed warmth and note weight while brining more natural GPC (mid-low coloration) presentation to the mix. Whereas the Raphael is lighter in tone, faster in transient while having more finesse as well as it's signature - a rosy tint across the midrange

Would you say Victoria focuses more on low-mids and midbass while Raphael focuses more on entire midrange (low and upper)?

Generally speaking, yes. But it will depend on specific pairing, ymmv. If you have the opportunity to, audition both on your setup :)

Ehh it's okay, Leather has always been opportunistic exploration due to unstable supply so we get really excited whenever we get our hands on good ones :)

I hope the leather cases are not limited in production this round, i've missed a few releases .. i have the inexplicable urge to collect them all xD

We'll see, but unlikely that it wouldnt be limited. We can only source so much leather.
