Just got the OTL yesterday. Unplugged the Orpheus and hooked it up to Jewel. Seriously, where's the bass?
I don't want to judge any cable until 50 hours of run time but is this cable requiring a heavy burin?

Big shout out to @Eric Chong and the Eletech team for the most excellent Purgatorio. Great pairing for the OG Focal Utopia. 🙇🏻‍♂️

No better way to end 2023! 🤗

If only Eletech have an inbetween

We've been exploring, but nothing got going thus far. A few disastrous sounding prototypes though =X. Let's see where the R&D takes us ..

Soooo what made it into to the prototype closet? 🙄

How goes this pairing may i ask? Im considering a HP cable for the Utopia and procrastinating between Inferno and Purgatorio. If only Eletech have an inbetween!
Out of the box, I am surprised how well it is doing. You would think that Utopia needs something to add body and warmth to it sound signature, and so normally copper is the instinctive response. With the Purgatorio you get that pith and body that it brings to the table. Whilst not compromising on the transparency and clarity. And of course the excellent timbre that Purgatorio brings forth as well. The sound stage is pushed out as well.

I am rotating a few HPs most weeks and so the burn in process will be slow. But I am very pleased with the pairing. My 2022 Utopia stock cable is also casting furtive glances across, and rightly so...

Im actually quite keen to grab a look at what's the fabled ET closet. They have been real picky on their prototypes, im sure there's some rare goodies in there!

Thanks for sharing your quick views! I was considering the Inferno for the same reason you mentioned, i thought it needed some body. I shall look into the Purgatorio and perhaps pop @Eric Chong an order come payday :p

Yeah... The Purgatorio is special. I recall when Eric shared with me the prototype, I was pretty taken aback. Because of the timbre. The trebles were great especially since they were nuanced and layered. Which is frankly more rare than it should be. I know then we had a winner. :)

We had the exact experience. IMHO, the thickness perception that were muddy were just transformed to clearer, more defined note texture and this results to that deeper soundstage perception
I probably have 60 hours on the inferno. And I agree, a very hi res sounding cable, but as you alluded to in a previous post, there seems to some cleaning up in the lower frequencies akin to pure occ silver. When I swapped back to the stock cable, the low end was more noticeable. Has the inferno filled out in the lower frequencies for you after more burn in?

Indeed it did in some key areas. Firstly, the impact/slam and subbass extension became more noticeable. Secondly, the mid-bass texture thicken a bit but still less than stock which to me now sounds veiled in the midbass. The emphasis is more on the nuances of the midbass texture rather than sheer amount which to me sounds artificial from the stock cable. The slam and dynamics are much better with the Inferno after it settled.

IMHO, Inferno makes Susvara hypersensitive to its upstream components such that Susvara will tell your ears politely that your synergy isn't as dialed-in as you thought it did. For me, after the Inferno fully settled about 200 hours safely, I had the opportunity to tweak my upstream components and it easily revealed what tweaks worked best and not (particularly tube rolling across premaps, driver tube and power tubes and lastly swapping power cables between components). Now Susvara with the bang for buck budget chain to me sounds very dynamic with tube crunchiness that Inferno does not veil or limit in any discernible way
