Apologies for the late response and delayed replies on pm guys. I'm still in the midst of an overseas trip and has just managed to log into Headfi

Just found the Twister6 review with the brief comparison between the Raphael and Socrates... now I’m really intrigued…
The Socrates warms and darken the signature while the Raphael does it with a rosy tint, more musicality and emotive while the upper ends are slightly more extended.

Lows extensions and weight would be more of a Socrates forte than Raphael's though.

My OTL is starting to stiffen up, I assume rubbing it with some Vaseline will help?
Heyy Shawn, send me a pm. I'll send you a video when I get back to office next week on how to reset the braid and soften the cables.

I usually do not use Vaseline on cables as it would temporary moisturize the insulation but ultimately stiffen it quicker. There are some specialized conditioner that you can use but those are harder to get. I'll recommend resetting the braid which helps soften the cables :)

See what surprise came today? Oooh… It looks so gorgeous, doesn’t it? Now listening to it on the LCD3 off the SAEQ Hyperion Ge.

As I said to @Eric Chong when I first heard the prototype: I LOVE the nuanced bass and the timbre of the cable! None of the faults of silver cables.

Kudos to Eric and team for delivering up yet another masterpiece!

Plenty of great cables abound in that range. But it all depends on what you're looking for in synergy between your source, IEMs and music tastes. Would help to know what IEM and source you have.

Currently using Fitear DC Ti + 007 4.4ofc and A&K SE180, looking for cable to enhance mid and treble

Raph’s tuning focuses more on mids and smoother treble and for what you’re looking for – mids and treble – and music genre, I’d lean Plato but that’s closer to $1K. Above $1K are Project 8 Plato, maybe Illiad and Aeneid on the high end. On the EA side, Cleo II 4w, Horus and also Noble Magnus 4w.

I haven’t auditioned a FitEar DC Ti though ET Cassiel or EA Cadmus 8w would be more likely my recommendations for your budget.

If money was no object, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Aeneid, EA Chiron 4w / 8w, Brise Yatono Ultimate or Silver Concept, Noble Magnus 4w.

What I use my Raphael with is the Titan. Similar but not quite the same. I listen to primarily Mandopop and songs from Chinese period/sword fighting series. I think it is an excellent combination for this purpose: great mids and bass complements the natural great treble extension from the Ti shell. :)

Thanks for the insight! Rapheal seems to be a very good cable for Cantopop too!

Very brief impression of the Raphael vs the Socrates. I’ve had the Socrates on my EE Bravado 2 for about 6-7 months so it’s really my baseline. The Raphael is a more intimate sound as the mids seem a little boosted but ironically the sense of air doesn’t diminish any sense of soundstage depth. So it’s like everything (mids-treble) is a little clearer and more “organic” rather than necessarily more forward. I’ve only listened to a bit of acoustic NIN and some Nils Frahm but the clarity is addicting. I’m looking forward to what some hours on it does.
